What does it denote when a phone is locked?

When a phone is locked it denote it will only work with the provider from whom you bought it.

If your phone is locked it won’t routinely become unlocked when your deal expires with your provider.

You’ll have to explicitly ask your carrier to unlock it. We’ll explain how it works in due course.
